I had something very similar happen a few years ago. I had bought a set of apparently rare Passat 15x6.5 ET 37 steel wheels and decided not to attempt to modify them. I put them on CL, and a guy shows up in a beautiful Syncro Westy. Turns out he was very active in the Subaru Vanagon community and gave me some pointers on my in-progress EJ22 conversion, and he bought the wheels. Gotta love good Vanagon people. -- Joe T.
