FWIW:  I had a glass shop replace mine, with a new BD seal.
After the fellow ripped it in with the cord, he spent a lot
of time moving it into perfect position.  He said it was
the tightest seal he'd ever worked with.  I was amazed at
how he pounded with a rubber mallet while using the suction
cup handle.  The end result is great; no place to leak
with that seal.
