Hi all, Whoever said, somewhere in this discussion, that the Japanese can't get any gasoline had it right. Our vanagons aren't going to do any good if something like this hits us,especially given that most of us need rather a lot of fuel to get very far. The only advantage might be that we can take a lot of people with us, and help more than just ourselves. The consequences of a disaster like that in Japan are enormous, but the probability is VERY low. If you are really concerned, about disasters in your lives, I'd suggest you worry about more likely ones. I usually think saving money is a better hedge against more likely crises, frankly, just as it's a better way to help people suffering from disasters. In which connection - here's two lists of organizations taking donations, please help: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_newsroom/20110311/wl_yblog_newsroom/japan-earthquake-and-tsunami-how-to-help http://www.us.emb-japan.go.jp/j/anzen/jishin_message.html And now I'll shut up, since there's really not much vanagon content here.
