Oh, I was just jealous that you got to have a Vanagon road trip and I didn't. I'm over all that now, pass the ham please. I once used a vehicle delivery service call Auto Drive-Away. They have offices around the country including Kent WA http://www.autodriveaway.com/ I dropped the vehicle off at their Kent office and they found a qualified (non-professional) driver to drive it to its destination (York, ME). The vehicle needs to meet certain standards and they don't always have someone who can drive it away immediately but at that time it was considerably cheaper than shipping by truck. Tony, my solution to this challenge five years ago was to fly back and drive the extra vehicle (about 3 days). Of course Andrew Martin reminds me that bringing my rusty Vanagons to the west coast was akin to taking a ham sandwich to a banquet.
