re Thoughts? Yes, preef rood more before sending. looks to me like it says the front half will be the 84 GL .. then next paragraph says 'undecied about front half' then it reads "Both are 4-speeds w/o no PS' So both are 4 speeds without no power steering' ......'without no' ..? 'we don't got no power steering sir' sunroof in the rear sounds cool. A stretch will need PS for sure ! or is it an april fools joke ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "BenT Syncro" <syncro@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, April 01, 2011 3:19 PM Subject: Building a Vanagon stretch Just want to take this opportunity to announce that we have embarked on a project to build a stretch. It's a great way to cut your registration and insurance bills in half. The front half will be my 1984 Vanagon GL which has the later model front suspension with PS and turbo Subie behind an auto trans. Had to redo the engine conversion anyway to replace all the homemade brackets, engine carrier and exhaust. Instead of putting them back here, the engine and trans just goes into the rear half. Undecided about the front half. It will be either an 85 Westy Weekender which was smashed in front or an undamaged 85 Sunroof van with a blown headgasket. Both are 4-speeds w/o no PS. Plus on the Weekender because it's not economically impractical to repair and it's already the same color as the front donor. It would be cool to have a sunroof in back limo-style. That works better for me than the poptop. Thoughts? BenT sent from my electronic leash=
