Back in mid December the exhaust broke wide open on my '86 GL after hitting a chuckhole. It was pretty rusted. Since I didn't have the funds to fix it (that and no garage) I parked it till I could work on it. Had to drive my hog of an Expedition. Finally this past week I was able to scavenge all the parts I needed from my small stockpile and get it back on the road. 

As I pull out of the drive and go for a test spin I realized I had a big dumb smile on my face. It wouldn't go away. 

After 3 month I was back in my Vanagon!

Simple pleasure are the best.
