I recently had my 1.9 WBX replaced with a 2.1� - more power and it runs very smooth - I like it. The problem is that about 1/2 pint of coolant seems to disappear about every 200 miles. There's no sign of a leak, no odor of coolant, no sign of it on the dip stick. The mechanic (reputable VW shop) has been over it from top to bottom a couple of times with no luck.
