This whole business seems really bizarre. Is it really of some benefit in preventing the radio from being stolen? It isn't that marvelous a radio, anyway, and stealing it would not be something to be done in a couple of minutes. At any rate, this radio locking must not apply to all Vanagons. I have had the battery out or disconnected on several occasions, and the radio has never gone into this mode. Should I look for something that must be not working properly, or should I be thankful that this particular "improvement" is missing from my camper? mcneely ---- neil n <musomuso@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > Hey Zoltan. > > A quick google and found these links > > http://www.europeantransmissions.com/Bulletin/DTC.VW/radioVWcoding.pdf > > (for Heidelberg V radio) > > http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/49-19368-180032-2164/HeidelbergVRadio1.jpg > > here: > > http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/message.jspa?messageID=179957 > > Hope that helps! > > Neil. > > > > On Sat, Apr 30, 2011 at 1:09 PM, HotelWestfalia <zolo@foxinternet.net> wrote: > > My radio has been off when I worked on it. Now, I can't get back to "Safe Mode" to put the code numbers in. And I don't really remember if there is a specific precedure step by step how to do, what buttons to push and how long, etc. > > The List is my greatest help. > > Zoltan > > > > > > -- > Neil Nicholson '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" > > http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ > > http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines -- David McNeely
