Assuming you get it cleaned out, try this:  when you get
back from a trip, drain the tank, leave the bottom drain
cover and the top opening cover off for a couple of days
until it is completely dry inside.  Then button up for
the next trip.  I've done that for 10 years and don't have
any taste issues with my tank.
