It had remnant indicators of some moisture having hit the paper filter, by some of the folds being slightly warped, but there was NO signs of dirt/dust on the filter. Surprising to me because I've driven at least 3K miles of the 15K I've driven in that year, on dirty/dusty roads. I "suspect" the moisture came from driving at highway speeds, through heavy rains and the mist being concentrated into the intake shorkel. As Alistair says, I've used large hose clamps, and a very robust piece of fuel filler rubber tubing (about 3" dia.) for the run up the D pillar. The entire system is either hard plastic or rubber and put together with clamps. bob '87 Syncro Westy
