I just ran into a kind of different source for buying Trojan batteries. For info, there are two brands of batteries that are considered by most to be the best on the market: Trojan and Rolls-Surete. The Rolls battereis are very, very high priced. The Trojan batteries are generally considered as good but less cost. The time had come to replace my aux battery, it had lasted for four years (and had been badly abused) and would not longer hold a charge. When it was first installed I'd wanted a Trojan but Trojan dealers have become hard to find around Seattle for some reason. And the only local source I found appeared to be a wholesale distributor only. Some browsing on the Internet found this site: <http://www.hodgsoncorp.com/products/trojan.htm> so I read what they had to say and emailed for a quote. The quote came back way, way below what I had seen quoted for the same Trojan battery. So I called and placed the order. Today I went to the local (in south Seattle) distributor and picked it up. The savings were substantial especially since I didn't have to pay local sales tax. And BTW, the local source where I picked the battery up was the source I'd found online, Battery Systems in Seattle. And it turns out they are a retailer also. Their service was excellent (carried in the old core and carried out and dropped in place the new battery) and they were very professional about it. Even though they were fulfilling an order for another dealer and when asked said they couldn't have matched the price. So, for those of you in an area that has a cooperating local distributor, you might check out the prices through Hodgson Distributors expecially if looking for Trojan batteries.
