the silver van got a stone puncture (those, in my mind, daft 16" hydroedge tires :)) on a rural gravel road at end of trip. That was my high lift, I store it under the rear seat. Not the best storage solution but I haven't made one of those chest thumping macho exterior mounts yet. I was running skinny (185/14) summer tires - Michelin Agilis 81, maroon syncro had 15" nokian WRC. alistair On 13-Jun-11, at 7:53 AM, Rob wrote: > The last picture with people working on the Vanagons was good <g>, > where was the high-lift jack stored (just curious)? > > Rob > becida@comcast.net > > > At 6/13/2011 07:28 AM, Alistair Bell wrote: >> Went on a short weekend trip with 2 other vanagon owners... silver >> 2wd >> '87 westy with 5spd and rear locker, maroon '91 syncro west with >> subie >> 2.5, and my bronze '86 syncro partially camperized tin top. >> More of the same for me, exploring logging roads etc. >> >> David B, look how the beach at Port Renfrew has changed since you >> were >> there in April, apart from the tide being out :) >> >> http://shufti.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/june-weekend-trip-with-3-vanagons/ >> >> alistair >
