I pulled over on my trip today and removed the door arm rest! I'm going to find some seat bases in better shape and reuse the original fabric. Borrowed the seats from my other van that is currently off the road. The later seats sit about an inch taller. Jason from my wireless leash. Remove the phillips head screws that hold the armrests to the door and then replace the screws using plastic screw caps with the little hinged cover that snaps in place (available in the hardware section at Lowes) covering the screw head-gives a nice finished look. > > > > Jeff Stewart > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > Why not remove the arm rests from the door panel? > Remove door panel, remove two screws (or three), replace door panel. > > Works for me. > > Jim > > > On Jun 29, 2011, at 9:16 PM, Bret Berger wrote: > >> Alan, >> >> I can speak to the issues of the newer seats in an 82 Westy.
