RE: Storage ove the upper bunk
If you don't use the upper bunk you can pull it out, four screws IIRC, and
you get about 5 1/2 inches of storage space.  I built a framework up there
with a hinged door at the front, all kinds of stuff stored up there now for
the last 5+ years including my solar panels.
