I am with Scott on this. I have seen old aircooled cases where the lifters
just wouldn't slide in and out of without honing. had one today do it. pays
to  check each hole seperately  later  mark d

with luck..the new lifters will slide in without a sloppy  fit ,
and not be terribly tricky to get started in the bore  either.
