Something that works on inline vw motors and good if the motor is already put together- Remove pressure sender on filter housing, pour oil in the hole. I guess it would be better to use a pump type oil can since the sender hole is small. The oil runs back to the pump and provides suction. Should work fine on a waterboxer too, as the sender location is uphill from the pump. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of James Felder Sent: Saturday, July 09, 2011 9:21 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Any tricks for priming oil pump? This creates the instant suction you want to get the oil flowing. The small amount of vaseline melts in the heat of the oil, and is gone. I did this last year when I built a 2276cc Bug engine. Primed instantly. > Courtney ----- No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 10.0.1388 / Virus Database: 1516/3755 - Release Date: 07/09/11
