Subject:Re: Proper AC temp?

Please let us not promote this fallacy. The AC unit in a Vanagon is quite adequate for cooling it down, if it is properly set up. Westys, however have a distribution issue. It's difficult, due to the pop top to get the cooled air up to the front of the front passengers. The rear passengers might be needing long johns, while the front folk are sweating in t-shirts and shorts. It's all about the distribution of that cold air.

Many a time I've started going down hill in my Westy and can feel my legs getting cold as the cold air 'falls downhill' inside the van. My head would still be burning up (especially if I'm in the sun.)

One of these days I'll get around to a long thought of project to get that cold air up to my front without the need of another evaporator unit.
