Nothing wrong with 4 alloys mounted and a steel spare EXCEPT...  Folks should be reminded that the stock Vanagon steel wheel requires different lug nuts/bolts than the Carat alloy wheels.  Ball face seats on steel wheel  vs conical face seats on the alloys.

I don't see what's wrong with 4 alloys and 1 plain steel rim for a spare . as 4 reconditioning  all I've ever done is repaint them  with metallic silver  automotive paint not rattlecan  stuff and they  have held up fine .  Jeff

Well a set is FIVE not FOUR. The spare should be the same as the rest.
Most used alloys IMHO need reconditioning which makes them almost as expensive as new wheels.

If I do I will have a set of four VW factory 14" alloy wheels with three good Hakka 185R14 CS tires left over. I have no place at all to store these. If anyone is really interested and would pick them up with a day or two notice then what are they worth to you? Make an offer, just don't be to insulting.
