I wanted to pass this info to the Vanagon & Empire NY VW camping lists at large who may not catch this easy, cheap and handy addition to our camping comfort post on The Samba http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5507885#5507885 Originally in this thread as well.. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=476834 some more images of the Gutter guard screen modified for the front 2 doors. $2 ea at the home center. available in White Tan and Brown.. nearly perfect camping colors. I'd recommend buying 3 in case you cut too short, or lose one in the wilds. They aren't the most overbuilt item, but for our needs they are great value for the price. notice on the out face the little lip is trimmed to slip into the side rubber channel. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/838401.jpg Inside view out. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/838402.jpg Make this a "heavy handed" 29& so more likely 29&5/16 inch http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/838403.jpg top corner radiused and the bottom C-channel trimmed to slip in the side window channel. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/838404.jpg Here's the only hole in them, will require a small piece of camping tape. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/838428.jpg And a White one on a blue van, but you can likely paint them with Krylon Fusion plastic paint to get a better match http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11629445/IMG_20110815_182924.jpg
