My Bluestar is getting a 1Z/AHU TDI engine with the same 50 degree install
kit as came with the OP's van.  It will also be a "one-wire" engine, since
I'll be using a manual pump.  I owned an '82 1.6L NA diesel engined van, and
wouldn't recommend those for a swap.  I love the engines themselves, and
have owned many many VW diesels cars, but they're just not up to the
challenge of pushing a big heavy brick around reliably and safely.
