I'm not sure about that gate, a couple of friends got to Comox lake this spring, one went to a site north-west edge of Comox Lake, at km 13 along Comox Logging Road, looks like a local hot spot for bush parties. The other explored further. Will attach pics of latter, will make to Trevor and Phil, but not to list. "Went up to Comox Lk last w/e in search of Simons campsite. Found it but discovered it was a bit of a magnet for dirt bikers and big 4x4s with loads of wood and lawnchairs. Decided it was maybe not going to be very quiet so moved on down the lake. Found a nice place to park for a couple days. North flag marker was the campsite and took the dog for a bike ride down to the south and west flags." Looking north towards Comox lake from the south marker flag. Looking west. View of Comox glacier is just around the corner to the right and visible part way down the lake. alistair On 2011-09-09, at 9:44 AM, Phil Zimmerman wrote: > Ab wrote: > Trevor > your van looks far too nice and shiney, you need to do a reccy for me and drive up Cruickshank Canyon logging road (west side of Comox lake) and report back how overgrown it is and how far you can get :) > > cheers > > alistair > ---------- > > I was up the lower part of that road about 8 years ago (rough) > Last I heard, the Comox Lake logging road is now gated just past the road up to Forbidden Plateau. > > But yeh, Trevor might want to check this out and report back eh? > > Pz
