yeah, thanks..I thought 'EDE' didn't quite sound right. ADE is what was trying to remember. ADG ...nice to know. There's also ABL .. 1.9 TD in Eurovan ( T5 Van I think it's called over there ) non-North America . Very weird turbo outlet area on the one I built a turbo exhaust system for. No kidding on ............. different turbo's on various versions of AAZ, turbo oil return lines etc.. Quite a few variations. ----- Original Message ----- From: "mark drillock" <mdrillock@COX.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 11:53 AM Subject: Re: Possible aaz/ turbo diesel source? > ADE is the code for Industrial 1.9TD > ADG is for Industrial 1.9NA > AAZ is the most common code for automotive 1.9TD > > All of the above were sold over a period of years with differences for > different markets, intended applications, parts evolution, so no two > with the same 3 letter code are necessarily exactly alike in every way. > Different turbos, pumps, manifolds, emissions fittings, etc, same code. > > Mark > > > > Scott Daniel - Turbovans wrote: >> EDE I think is a code for an industrial 1.9TD engine. >> I bought 3 of them once, >> One had an injection pump wih a very sharp 'cut-off' at the top of rpm >> band. >> Not like power just faded when rpm's got way up there... >> it would drop power delivery aprubtly at 4,500 rpm or so. >> Very noticeable in the lower gears , not so much higher gears. >> >> the engine itself though .........all new, all german, and really solid. >> >>
