I just turned 60, so I'm out of the hunt, but my first van was a white Texas-bred 1960 Kombi(no rust) with the double doors on the driver's side. Paid $3.61 for it ie the cost of a compression check at the IH dealer in Clarinda Iowa. A bunch of hippies had a load of tapestries etc(drugs???....ya think??) blew a hole in a piston on their way to a head shop in Ames off campus at ISU. All they cared about was getting the "goods" to the head shop. They said that if I delivered, I could have the bus. A borrowed 1969 Ford XL and a rented U haul bumper hitch/tow bar combp later, it was home and so were the goodies. Used piston and cylinder from my stock pile and I drove it all summer long. Eventually got a clear title to it. Gave it to my roommate that fall in exchange for him co-signing a loan so I could buy my dream car, a blue 1963 356B Porsche Coupe. Went bus-less from about 1970- 1978 when I bought a 71 gold/white in Arkansas for like $700. Wish I still had all three of those vehicles.....oh well DM&FS At 11:33 AM 10/7/2011, John Jensen wrote: >So if Craig is the youngest, who is the oldest? >And what is the average?
