Yeah, me too in an 85 Vanagon hardtop with a 1.9 east of Payson, Arizona. Photo speed trap. In the afternoon on the way eastward everyone (locals) started slowing down as we approached it; alas, then next morning on the westward trip it was early (6 am), no cars at all on the road, a little groggy perhaps so I forgot about the speed trap and didn't notice a thing until the cameras flashed....doh!!! Guess I was in a hurry to get to Phoenix that morning, and it was downhill, so 55 in a 45 zone. Guilty!! Nice souvenir photos of the front and rear of my van. Arizona locals hate those photo speed traps I've been told.

Yes it is!
Got a speeding ticket this am on the way to woik. Clocked @ 43 mph in a 30 mph zone after a 2 block startup from a right hand turn. Motorcycle cop w/ a radar gun on the side of a busy 1 way road w/ 4-5 lanes.
When he asked if I knew how fast I was going, I demurred, saying afterall I was in a VW Bus & couldn't possibly be speeding.
But NOOOOOOO!
I behaved myself, as The spousal Unit was in the car, taking her to work after dropping her Audi off for a new head gasket among other issues( 199,000 miles), & he wrote it up for only 5 over.
I think he felt guilty giving someone in a VW Bus a speeding ticket, & he should have!

YMMV,
