Hi all

I recently developed a problem that has me stumped.  I have an 87 Vanagon GL with the 2.1  When she idles I get a really intense idle surge.  normally between 1 and the second line above on on the tach.  Sometimes when I stop the idle will remain at almost 2 on the tach before slowing down to normal idle speed. Once there it will begin to surge again.  Has anyone experienced this problem and if so how did u fix it?  Also at idle it sounds like a whistle or a leak somewhere but my friend and I couldn't find it.   Thank u in advance
