The breather heaters I have seen were 'stand alone' .......in other words, just added on. They're connected to the black '15' wire going to the coil I believe. they can be retrofitted to any waterboxer engine easily. thanks for your diligent work here and posting of pictures. Gets a little muddled with '86 vans, changes part way through the year. But it seems there was a retrofit of sorts to add the crankcase breather heater onto the same circuit. The vin of my van indicates early part of year, and bentley for it shows no crankcase breather heater at all. But I do have one, I can see it :) So I assume it might be a retrofit or a bentley mistake. If you look at the various years in the bible, err, bentley, you can see the changes in the various things D15 supplies. I think in all vans however, D23 (the bigger sized molex plug) is free and is on same panel circuit as D15, so a swap over to that connection is a solution. alistair On 2011-11-02, at 7:27 PM, Phil Zimmerman wrote: > On Wed, 2 Nov 2011 11:08:38 -0700, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: > >> Due to the no start situation I had yesterday, I pulled the fuse panel >> and had a look at the > D15 connector.
