Wish I could go!  I was just there last October to cross out one of the
items on my bucket list; see the Death Valley night sky on a moon-less
evening. It was incredible.

The moon will not rise until 10 (
http://aa.usno.navy.mil/cgi-bin/aa_rstablew2.pl ) so you should be able to
get in some decent star gazing.
