Today I worked 8 hours on my "new bus" (90GL automatic) with the help of 7 great workers. We got a great deal done, but issues have come up. We've got fresh brakes on 3 wheels (Front left, and both rears), we did not get around to the front right yet. While the front was apart piees of the suspension were ground down and rust proofed. Both rear parking brake cables have been replaced, as well as 75% of the fuel lines in the engine bay (all but the feed and return lines) as well as the lines under the van. Obviously, the rest of the lines will be done next. However, new problem. The brake pedal feels awesome. We probably need to bleed more, and haven't bled at all at the front right since we didn't touch that wheel. However, the pedal feels awesome with the car off and in position. Then..... with the car running, the pedal goes right to the floor. Pumping will bring it up, but barely. It took continuous pumping and clenched buttox (and a beer in hand) to get the bus down the hill. Also, randomly, its "grinding" into "Park".... sometimes (This is new). I can put a starter in unassisted on the ground in 18 minutes now! (I've had them in and out at least 15 times on this bus already!) Any thoughts? -Craig '85GL '90GL '87 SUNROOF SYNCRO BOSTIG WESTY
