Gregg,

Here's a good link:

http://www.ratwell.com/technical/Exhaust.html#nuts

Personally... I almost always use the copper flange nuts, however, both work
very well.

Cheers,

Jeff

That was one of my first thoughts. Sorry to say that my call to BD didn't
fair to well in terms of identifying the 'right' parts (in terms of
material composition, not sizes) for just the nuts/bolts for the exhaust
system.

I took a look at the link to the Gowesty.com exhauast gasket/hardware set
on their site (thanks, Hector!), but there really wasn't any description of
what the nuts/bolts were made of. Aside from trusting them (or any other
vendor), they could be made of pot metal or solid gold. Other than the
picture, really no way to tell.

So, that leads me back to the question of what is the 'best' (very
subjective) nuts and bolts to use on the exhaust given the various metal
compositions that metric nuts and bolts are available on the market? Heat
treated steel? Zinc coated? Brass? High nickel content?
