ACE does carry a lot of metric but again be aware of the property class. Especially for nuts and washers. Also the stainless is usually A2, not A4.

Honestly.  My local Ace Hardware has an INCREDIBLE supply of metric
hardware.  By far the best I've ever seen.  My shop is in the same building
as a Fastenal store and Ace easily tops them on metric inventory.  They even
have stainless steel...
