My wife has made it with tongs over a flame (with many dropped and burned casualties) and on a griddle. I have been looking online at several types of toasters that might fit the Westy grill.

I have no idea how good the toaster shown is. I opted for the grate inserts that Frank Condelli sells. They are way too expensive, and being made of sheet metal, they warped badly upon heating. I still use them, and they accomplish one very important function. Because the center opening of the camper stove grate is too large, small pots do not fit well, and there is risk of tipping. The grate inserts obviate that problem. And, one can make toast on them (or quesadillas as well, or any other item one wishes to toast). But I wished I'd put my ingenuity and craftsmanship to the task, and not spent so much for these things.

When I said that the quality did not justify the cost, Frank said I expected too much from a thin metal device. No, I expected more than that for my $25. Oh well.
