Yesterday I was checking my email, sitting in my van in the parking lot
of a public library in the desert SW.  A quite new white Eurovan camper
pulled in beside me and the youngish couple got out and went inside.  When
they returned, the guy walked over and put his face against my window,
shading his eyes to see inside....He was a bit startled when I tapped on
the window and said hello, from behind my dark tinted windows....He began
asking me about my "old van"...and was amazed to discover it had been built
the same year he was born.....A Swiss couple, touring the US in their
van.....Nice people..

   I think I prefer my own van to theirs, though.  I think mine works
better, has better ground clearance, and it certainly has "more
character".  They didn't offer to trade, but if they had, they may have
been refused.......Wait.....I could have probably sold that fancy new
factory camper after a trade,  and got about 20 vans like mine, or maybe a
syncro and an inline VW 5sp like this one and had money left over.....
