Still though .... very useful that his experience was posted. I just read it in the flavor of .... 'don't know if this always happens ..but I sure got burnt with no recourse with this company, so be careful. " I'm sure glad to get the warning. and I can imagine the upset on both ends of the deal.. one guy no seat, the other no money. ..makes for a real mess. when I ship by post office, I always invest a few shekels in insurance.. that way USPS can track it. the one time I took a chance and mailed a rare carb jet, that I had saved for 30 years to a guy, with the Post Office, .. I didn't insure it .... the guy said he never got it.. all I could easily do is just return his money and take the lesson. fortunately it wasn't a big expensive lesson. scott turbovans On 2/24/2012 12:31 PM, Tom Hargrave wrote: > I'm not trying to bash your post but this is just one data point. > > It would be like assuming UPS did a poor job because the only package you > ever shipped with them was lost. > > Thanks, Tom Hargrave > www.stir-plate.com > www.towercooler.com > www.kegkits.com > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of > JordanVw@AOL.COM > Sent: Friday, February 24, 2012 2:11 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: shipping large items greyhound BAD IDEA > > a friend just had a large vanagon seat shipped coast to coast greyhound..it > never made it here... just a warning.. dont let the cheap shipping > rates fool you.. no tracking.. no guarantees... its a crap shoot.. > dont use greyhound to ship anything that you actually want to see it reach > its destination .... > ----- > No virus found in this message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 10.0.1382 / Virus Database: 2113/4829 - Release Date: 02/24/12 >
