A fellow called Dunlop is credited to be the first to build a practical tire which was inflated with air. Since air is 78.09% nitrogen, that makes him the first to put said gas in a tire which someone has documented.;-) I have to ask this next question. So you just had some tires mounted. Tire jockey inflates with nitrogen. What happens to the air already in the tire cavity before inflation started?
