More power, more RPM's, lots of low end torque, no more head gaskets and it's a VOLKSWAGEN engine in a VW. Lotsa mods done by FAS to make that Golf type motor the perfect powerplant for the camper. New AC that works well for you folks still on that thread.

To the point. I am looking for a new home for the engine that came out of my 87 camper. Appox. 116K. Head gaskets (1st time) done appox. 100K. Ran great before removal and all ports closed up and correct procedures used when removing and storing. It is currently in Harpswell, ME. Looking for $1000, but really have no idea what's reasonable. Feel free to tell me or make an offer. I would really like to see it put back in operation. It was a sweet engine and hard to justify the change, but I am a little tired of leaky head gaskets, third gear (or lower) on mountain highway steeps and the old technology.

Dave B.

84.5 Westy

87 Gen. 5 I4 Westy (almost)
