I installed a second propane tank, and realized it was gunking up with
ice this winter so I ordered a German/stock front right mud flap from
bus depot, and also the recommended grommets for installation.
The lower bracket seems straightforward, but the grommet/stud
installation has me stumped.

I assume I drill into the rubber to install the pointed end of the stud?
Then drill into the van to install the grommets, but then how do I screw
the flat stud into the grommets?  Do I twist the grommet itself?  These
are little black plastic grommets that have four spreading posts on the
backside.  I can hardly get the stud in the grommet, and I don't see how
I can install it on the vehicle??
