You can get a small 4lb or 5lb tank easily enough. The standard BBQ type hold 20lbs while the Westy tank holds about 12lbs. Here is a small one almost as short as you are asking for. http://www.lowes.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&cId=SEARCH&productId=3089591&cm_mmc=SCE_gps-_-gps-_-gps-_-Worthington%20Pro%20Grade%204.25%20Lb.%20Propane%20Cylinder&CAWELAID=1024194749 or at http://www.doitbest.com/LP+Tanks-Worthington+Cylinder-model-281149-doitbest-sku-805262.dib Mark Karl Mullendore wrote: > There is a nice small alternative, but so far my prodding of the > manufacturer (including phone calls, yes), all I get is the runaround and > they can't seem to produce one vendor that actually sells me the damn things! > > http://www.mantank.com/green/refillable.htm > > I'd like to locate a smaller (than a Westy) horizontal tank or short stubby > upright under 10" tall, but there are no real choices it seems. > > Karl > www.westyventures.com >
