While many promote the regular changing of antifreeze the most important time is when a major metallic part of the coolant system or the engine is changed. A radiator definitely qualifies. Also, pinching off the hoses will always do some damage to them. Let it drain out and use new coolant and distilled water. For the replacement radiators, in most any vehicle I find the aluminum ones last the longest. David Beierl wrote to me and strongly suggested that I get the right tool to wrangle the hose clamps. Alastair's how-to at <https://shufti.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/vanagon-radiator-replacement/> says "[...] clamp off coolant lines [...]" So, since I'm making a trip to my FLAPS for tools anyway, I might as well pick up some proper clamps. My question: What kind of clamps do I need to clamp off the coolant lines before I drop the old (and sadly leaking) radiator? -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott Bend, Ore. 1984 Westfalia.
