an option of course, is to put in a 2.1. One bolts in perfectly where a 1.9 was, using all outside 1.9 parts Though at that point, I usually put 2.1 exhaust and complete intake on them, but still run Digijet EFI and the 1.9 cooling system - this will give you a pretty strong runner waterboxer engine where you had a 1.9 before. I'm very pleased with mine. scott turbovans On 5/9/2012 4:31 AM, B Feddish wrote: > If you do decide you need a rebuild, try http://www.suburbanengine.com/ > though he may not be doing 1.9's anymore. > > Thanks, > Bryan > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jon Durham > Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2012 7:30 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: New Engine Wanted: 85 Vanagon > > I know there is probably a mountain of info on this digest about > acquiring a new engine. > > I think my engine is slowly dying.
