Subject:Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder replaced Finally!!! - One other question though.

is the clutch pedal firmish right from the top ?
How much freeplay is there at the top of the clutch pedal travel ?
it should be almost nuthin'....1/8th to 1/4 inch.
The pin in the clevis wears in the hole in the clutch pedal lever ..hope
you lubed that really well while in there.

if grinding going into reverse..
that implies clutch not releasing fully ..
due to ....clutch hydraulics not bled well enough ..
too much free play ...
worn clevis pin and hole...
or draggy pilot bearing !

( as for accuracy of gear selection ..the 'H' pattern of the shift knob ..
I have had to tweak on the rotational alignment at the splines in the
middle of the shift rods, just from taking a trans out and putting
everything back exactly where it was ..that shouldn't have made any
difference..but it did, at least on two occasions. )
