Friends in Thousand Oaks have a Eurovan Weekender.  Seems more like a mini-van than a true camper to me.  And it does not have as much road clearance as does the Vanagon, so not so good on back roads.  But I know nothing about reliability.  GoWesty says if your preference is for a vehicle that is more modern and is more reliable, you should choose the Eurovan over the Vanagon.
