I am not sure what is worse, the wear or the corrosion! I have seen the rod wear enough to snap. The wheel well does a wonderful job of catching the tire as moves back. I have also seen the chassis opening wear enough for mount to almost pull through. I have gotten proficient at welding that mess up. I can see how this happens. After all the work on the behind of my new ride, had pause to look at some front end components. The bushings look "ok" but who knows? Need to get the van up in the air. Can't do so safely right now so could easily let that inspection slide for a while. The worst part is how a really worn set of bushings/sleeves can allow strut to malform the frame hole.
