You can fabricate a patch piece and rivet in place to hold the pedal base.
This is avery common rust spot in northern vans due to dirt and stuff from
the bottom of shoes getting under the carpet and siting there.

Floor board has rusted through on 'Ol Red where the gas pedal attaches to
the floor. Got a spot about 4-6 inches across that is going to need
patching. Has anyone dealt with this before? What does the List recommend
for a fix?
