If you're feeling poor you could change the span calibrator on the
gauge to match what the sender is doing.  If you're looking in under
the faceplate of the gauge it's the one that changes the spring
tension, so I believe that would put it on the left looking from the
back.  The zero calibrator moves the pivot point.
