Ok, Scott and David, I'll check this out. But I think mine must have had that simply run without that connection at some point in time. What is the reason for it? Why would there be a short piece of hose running from the firewall fitting, then a connection to a longer piece of hose? But since you guys say it is that way, it must have been at one time. I'll double and triple check. mcneely ---- Scott Daniel - Turbovans <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> wrote: > On the 'other side' of the firewall from the engine compartment, > where your metal firewall fitting is .. > on that back side, if it's like all other vanagons I've seen, there is a > short hose, about 2 inches long. > At the forward end of that hose, where it is clamped by a crimp type > small hose clamp originally, > that is The Spot that leaks. > If there is a screw type hose clamp there it's probably ok. > if original crimp type...that's where they leak. > > Scott > www.turbovans.com > > On 6/26/2012 6:57 PM, Rocket J Squirrel wrote: > > "Mine is done with a grommet and a direct fuel hose, no connections > > > at all at that position." mcneely > > > > "Get underneath and look a little farther forward...that's the third > > connection Stuart is talking about, direct hose to hose."
