Most of the time when a Vanagon suddenly won't propel in any gear it is because of a problem with a CV axle. Usually all the bolts back out on one CV joint until the last 1 or 2 snap off. Look closely at the side flanges of the tranny when it is in gear and engine running but won't go. If either side flange is rotating then the problem is with an axle on that side. Looked at the torque converter and it was running with the engine. Checked the ATF and it was nice and pink and full. Checked the linkages under the car and did not see anything amiss. > > Now, I’m wondering what it can be suddenly. There was no funny noise before it happened. > > Any great advice? > > Zoltan >
