Yeah, it was late when I sent that! I've often run in test mode with just the AFM hanging off the intake pipe. What to check? If the AFM falls off the airbox where it is mounted with 4 screws.. the engine will run just fine. It will be on unfiltered air, but will run just fine. Not a 'running connection' there ....just a filtering air one. scott turbovans On 7/24/2012 9:56 PM, Stuart MacMillan wrote: That'll do it! There should be four little bolts sitting on top of the air filter that should be used to make the AFM to AF housing connection. It's odd that this could happen. What to check? Spot-on! The the throttle body came off the air filter housing. Not sure why I didn't spot that right off. THANKS! Make sure the connection to the air flow meter is fully attached. It's likely some sort of fuel problem either from a large vacuum leak or something came unplugged. Stuart BTDT. Subject: Starts then dies. What to check? 85 1.9L. Running fine this morning. Time to come home from work. Starts, dies. Won't start with throttle open. Dies if I try to give it gas. I'm not out of gas, and there seems to be plenty of pressure at the "t". What else to check?
