For those who couldn't buy Bill's ladder (the folding feature is very nice)
you can find verly strong, lightweight ladders that were used in the 70s
and 80s for top bunk access in pull-behind campers. They may still make
them, I don't know. They provide easy access to the top bunk. There are a
number of ways to stow them, though they don't fold (but they do have
comfortable flat rungs). Try a camper store that supplies older models.
