Subject:Re: Slider won't open - update

the cable will match the door version..
early ones are up to 84..
and they should have a pretty long handle ..and those break and are
often replaced with the shorter handle for an 85 and up door ..
the two doors are very distincly differnt..
the early door takes signifcant force ( large from things not being
lubed in the door, but there's a too-large spring in there too ) ..and
it fairly effortful to open.

an 85 and later door ..you just move the handle down barely , with very
little force or effort, and the slider jumps open.

other than that a late model short handle fitting on a early door ..(
which should have a longer outside handle )
the two door types have basically nothing in common.
