Unless the basic tune up parts are very tired or cheap ones, they are pretty unlikely to have much to do with fuel mileage. has there been any thoughts about 02 sensor, temp sensor II, and throttle switch function, not to mention restricted cat as a possibility. or worn injectors ....? really ...unless they are just wasted or super cheap, the basic tune up parts are usually not 'it.' I've seen shops say 'we need to do a 250 dollar tune up first ..then we can start to diagnose fuel injection.' that's ..ah .... baloney let's say. I get these 1.9's to run puuuurrfect .. and it can take a good while sometimes for sure .. dig deeper let's say. I seldom even use new tune up parts on my own vans .....good bosch ones last so very very well. oxygen sensor ....now there is a part that can get tired or dead medium easily. scott www.turbovans.com On 8/12/2012 9:36 AM, Tom Buese wrote: > My 84 Westy w/ original 1.9 gas engine w/ 155K on it has been getting poor > gas mileage on it since I got to Maine from Utah.
